Trolltunga is a spectacular rock formation located in the southwest of Norway. The number of tourists in summer has risen from 500 visitors to 40,000 in 5 years! (2009 and 2014)
This vertiginous cliff overlooks the sumptuous Lake Ringedalsvatnet. To admire this masterpiece of nature, visit the county of Hordaland, 180km east of Bergen (or 350 km west of Oslo).
To reach the Trolltunga, you have to leave Skjeggedal and walk 23 kilometers by high mountains.
Reaching Trolltunga requires a hike of either 10 to 12 hours of walking for an ascent of about 900 meters
You can plan to go there from mid-June until mid-September, depending on the timing of snowmelt. Tunga means “Language”, we translate Trolltunga by “language of the troll”
